I feel a little bit of a sneak. Going to Ikea with two children under 6, during the summer holidays terrified me to my very core so I played on Hayley's love of interiors with a off the cuff "I think they have their new stationary line in" ploy to get her to hold my hand. She fell for it. Sucker.
Now, you got to love Ikea, they have made it very child friendly (Soft toy tantrum anyone?!) and the kids actually see a visit as a bit of an outing. I needed to stock up on some bits for Freya's new room, win win situation.
I never really think through the car/purchase/space ratio when in Ikea. Hayley ended up flattened under a 10 stone box of flat back shelving... and bought me and the kids a carton of juice to say thanks after I convinced her the quorn veggie hot dog was delicious, she said it tasted like cardboard which I think capped it off. I bet she was thrilled she joined us! Hayley's life is a little different with two teenage boys and visits to ikea at 9pm.
We both go through fits and spurts with Ikea, at the moment they are so bang on trend and their marketing is spot on. We love seeing new artists and designers being showcased in their room sets and Ikea live website. So many inspiring images!!
